  Frittable Getters

SAES Getters developed its frittable getters to better serve the CCRT industry. Mounting the getter into a tube before the frit process offers processing advantages. If standard getters go through the frit cycle the nickel in the getter powder packet becomes heavily oxidized.


The presence of the oxygen makes the reaction of the nickel with the BaAl4 getter alloy becomes 30 times more exothermic. This is too violent for a reliable, particle-free getter flash. To produce a getter that is frittable, SAES’ optimized the getter powder packet so that after undergoing a frit cycle the exothermic reaction would still be controlled, reliable and safe

 

     

 

Since SAES Getters’ frittable getters can be mounted inside
the tube before the frit cycle and still flash reliably, they safely
streamline the CCRT manufacturing process. SAES’ frittable getters, suitable for a wide variety of applications are available. They are distinguished by the word FRIT at the end of the part description.
