Recover
Return to memorized shape of an article or material, recovering it even after large deformations and application of force; leverage the super-elasticity properties of Shape Memory Alloys (SMA).
Elasticity is one of the main mechanical characteristics of materials.
Since many years, SAES has been engaged in developing and manufacturing a special material, Nitinol, that exhibits a super elastic behaviour, by far exceeding the normal elastic properties of usual materials.
The super elasticity of Nitinol is highly functional to restore the initial shape (Nitinol wires, tubes and parts) after large deformations: this mechanical property is highly appreciated in medical devices and tools, where kinking needs to be avoided.
