Scientific and technological research is the DNA of SAES.
Applied research is mainly managed within the Corporate R&D Laboratories located in the SAES Headquarters in Lainate where 70 highly qualified researchers, including chemists, physicists, materials scientists, engineers take advantage of 3300 m2 state-of-the-art laboratories, fully equipped with a large variety of experimental tools, to exploit the technology portfolio towards new products in the short term and to explore new technologies towards new products in the medium to long term.
A wide network of research institutions is tightly connected to the Corporate R&D through closed cooperation agreements and open collaborative projects to exploit specific strategic resources in the short term or for exploration activities to develop know-how in the field of advanced materials and of potentially useful emerging technologies, so to pave the way of SAES future innovation. In particular, more than a hundred European research centers are cooperating with SAES within a large number of EU-funded projects.
