Ginevra della Porta Speaks at EY EMEIA Family Office Summit, Celebrating the Legacy of Her Grandfather Paolo della Porta

On April 28, 2025, at the EY EMEIA Family Office Summit in Milan, Ginevra della Porta, Chief Innovation Officer at SAES, participated in a special session titled “Building for the Next Generation.” The event offered a heartfelt moment to honor the enduring legacy of her grandfather, Paolo della Porta, founder of SAES.

Paolo was recognized as “Entrepreneur of the Year – Italy” by Ernst & Young in 2000, and later received the prestigious title of “EY World Entrepreneur of The Year” in 2001.

These accolades celebrated Paolo’s visionary leadership, dedication to research, and remarkable ability to transform—qualities that guided SAES from its metallurgical roots into a global leader in advanced materials.

During the session, moderated by Lauri Oinaala, EY’s EMEIA Family Enterprise Leader, Ginevra offered insights into the company’s culture of innovation and evolution:

“SAES Group, a Milan-based company specializing in advanced materials, has successfully transitioned from its metallurgical origins into a recognized innovator in high-tech solutions. With a strong focus on innovation and intrapreneurship, SAES is constantly reinventing itself to meet the demands of a rapidly changing global market. As Chief Innovation Officer and a member of the third generation, I actively contribute to this transformation, championing new ideas and technologies to ensure we remain future-ready.”

The story of SAES is not only one of business success but also of intergenerational continuity. Following the visionary leadership of Paolo and the international expansion led by his son Massimo, the third generation is now playing a pivotal role in shaping the company’s future.

Together with her brother Lorenzo and cousins Giulio and Livia, Ginevra is committed to upholding the Group’s core values of innovation and transformation. In her remarks, she emphasized how the new generation is reimagining the family business with a progressive mindset, while remaining anchored in its entrepreneurial heritage.

Her narrative effectively bridged the past, present, and future, demonstrating how a legacy of entrepreneurship can evolve across generations, preserving SAES’s identity while continuously driving it forward.
