Role Description

• Performs design activities for machines, machine parts and/or industrial equipment, preparing technical drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software and carrying out detailed technical development, identifying construction components and the related technological production solutions.
• Proposes design solutions for machines and industrial equipment related to assigned projects and carries out the individual design phases.
• Studies solutions that are consistent with the selected project architectural solution, in order to optimize design time and costs.
• Analyzes the compatibility of the new product with existing production plants and machinery, identifying construction material specifications in relation to strength factors and reactions to main stresses.
• Translates geometric, functional and assembly specifications into the machine’s bill of materials.
• Identifies the optimal manufacturing processes required for the realization of the part.
• Identifies coding and archiving methods for technical drawings to ensure their proper use and accessibility.
• Together with the Technical Office Manager identifies the best technological solution to be developed.
• Prepares the machine’s use and maintenance manual in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Manages documentation for machines and equipment in accordance with company procedures.
• Collaborates with production departments and company functions involved in projects, promoting teamwork and the exchange of technical information aimed at achieving common objectives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Technical diploma in Mechanics or equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years of experience as a mechanical designer or similar.
• Experience in industrial mechanical design will be considered an asset.
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling software, in particular AutoCAD and Solid Edge.
• Knowledge of regulations related to the Machinery Directive.
• Knowledge of the English language
