Mercury Dispensers
Advanced dosing technology for Linear, Circular and Compact fluorescent lamps have been developed by SAES over the last decades.
The advanced and reliable SAES method to introduce mercury in lamp is based on the use of stable Hg compounds. This technology allow to obtain an accurate delivery of Hg needed amounts, to minimize mercury pollution risks, to reduce maintenance of the machines and to improve lamp performances.
Dispensers are produced using special Ti-Hg compounds.
These are stable materials and are available with different configurations:
- Wire: tiny wire-shaped dispensers
- Strip
- TQS®
- ROOF
All these products may contain also getter powder.
The dispensers, mounted inside the lamps, can withstand the severe processing conditions being stable up to 500°C and can release mercury after lamp sealing, through a specific thermal activation carried out by RF heating at temperature in the range of 850°C - 900°C.
These dispensers enable an accurate delivery of very small amounts of mercury (even less than 1,0 mg).
Highlights:
- High Hg dosing accuracy
- Possibility to scale the Hg dosing from 5 down to below 1 mg
- Release of Hg only after Lamp tip-off: so no risks of pollution and contamination in the working areas;
- Control of the final gas filling pressure in lamp;
- No need of frequent cleaning of the dosing and pumping equipment
Final Applications
- Linear Fluorescent Lamps
- Circular Fluorescent Lamps
- Compact Fluorescent Lamps
