Role Description
Reporting to the Group Consolidation Manager, the role will support monthly consolidation activities and the preparation of the annual consolidated financial statements. The person will liaise with the controllers of the subsidiaries and with the external auditing firm, as well as oversee the application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IAS/IFRS) within the Group.
The role will also be involved in accounting activities related to extraordinary transactions that result in changes to the consolidation scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the preparation of consolidation entries for monthly, quarterly, and annual closings;
- Contributing to the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (IAS/IFRS), including consolidation entries, consolidated notes to the financial statements, and intercompany reconciliations, while liaising with subsidiaries and structuring Group accounting recording and management procedures;
- Defining and implementing processes to ensure the correct application of accounting standards by supervising financial and accounting processes, updating the related procedures, and identifying opportunities to improve accounting and financial processes at Group level;
- Analyzing data collected from affiliates and supporting local Controllers and company staff to ensure timely and accurate submission of required data;
- Preparing official disclosure documents (annual);
- Preparing periodic internal reporting for management and the Board of Directors;
- Coordinating with other teams within the Accounting Department to ensure proper information and accounting flows between the parent company and subsidiaries;
- Monitoring regulatory developments and implementing them within the systems;
- Interfacing with Group auditors;
- In addition to the specific professional skills required, the role requires operational flexibility, precision, critical thinking, strong interpersonal skills, goal and deadline orientation, and a team-oriented mindset.
Requirements and Skills
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, or a related field;
- At least 3 years of experience in a leading audit firm and/or in a consolidation department of a major industrial group, or in auditing activities;
- Advanced knowledge of business administration and accounting;
- Experience in preparing financial statements;
- Knowledge of IAS/IFRS accounting standards;
- Excellent command of English;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
- Experience with ERP systems; knowledge of HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) will be considered a plus.
